Objectives
This project examines China’s use of criminal law to combat severe environmental pollution, focusing on judicial enforcement and effectiveness in deterring corporate and individual offenders. The interdisciplinary study integrates public policy, law, and business research through collaboration between CUHK and international scholars. By analyzing environmental criminal cases and developing a conceptual framework, it aims to generate academic and policy impact. Key activities include assessing China’s environmental criminal justice system, organizing an international workshop, and producing high-impact publications with policy recommendations. The project ultimately seeks to strengthen China’s legal framework and establish a foundation for future comparative research.
